We slowly made our way back towards Brisbane with a scheduled appointment we had been waiting on. Passing through Kingaroy and Nanango luckily before the heavy rains came and caused flooding in the towns.
This is the loop we did over the last 7 weeks, while we were waiting for an appointment date.
In Brisbane we stayed at a farm stay called Wescloud at Burpengary very convenient to the shops, Bunnings, Redcliffe, Brisbane CBD by train and our family. We have stayed here several times with it becoming more and more popular. And why not it is a great spot.
Lovely flat grassed areas close to bush style shower and toilets. Another big area down the bottom with some very private spots with lots of shade. You do have to cross the creek again to go down to them. Also a dam with a few spots around it.
There is a caretaker called Frank with his faithful chocolate Labrador Molly. Frank can point you in the right direction for things to do and places to see.
The place is totally unpowered, no water or power. There is a skip bin, showers and toilets, fires are allowed. A camp kitchen is currently being built. The closest dump point is Petrie. Cost is $20 per night.
Spots around the dam.
There is a creek crossing as you go up the drive and after heavy rain it does rise and with so much rain this year the ground is water logged and we found the place can get rather muddy quickly.
Full details can be found on WikiCamps and you are asked to ring to book.
Unfortunately the appointment we came back for was cancelled and due to some unforeseen circumstances we ended up staying there longer than expected. We still managed to catch up with family and see our gorgeous grandkids.
So after being in isolation, we have been planning our “Great Escape” heading north to warmer weather.
