Last night we stopped at Swinging Bridge at Cooyar, the go to place for us when heading west it seems. We had an early night as we knew we would be up early and on the road by 6am.
It was a bit of a slow drive with road works, bad head winds, slow traffic including an 8m wide load being escorted by police. 2 days before we headed off there was a fire at Muckadilla Hotel that closed the hwy down due to smoke. It sure is a mess.
We have stopped for the night at Tambo on the river with plenty of other travellers, bad bindi’s in the dry grass which Jess got her feet filled with several times so we are keeping her to the dry dusty road. Large area with plenty of places to camp so you are not close to others.
