Chambers Pillar Historical Reserve – T, OR, $. 164 km S of Alice Springs. Long drop toilets with low seat. 2 Large camping areas, well spaced from each other, fire bits, bring in your own wood. Short walk to Chambers Pillar. Lovely spot but dusty. Rating – 3 The view from our camp site.

Algebuckina Bridge – F, OR, D. Another interesting place on the Oodnadatta Track you can stay for the night. Fairly large area, well off the road 58km S of Oodnadatta. Rating – 5
SA – Halligan Bay
Halligan Bay – T, OR, $. Reasonably large camping area, also has an overflow area. Permit and fees apply, inquire at William Creek. It is also covered by a Desert Parks Pass. Can be very windy and exposed, but wow it's awesome. Worth the rough drive out, 70km off the Oodnadatta Track. Rating – 4

Strangways Siding – OR, F, D. Camp area at Strangways Siding, you can pretty well camp where ever you can find a spot.On the Oodnadatta Track. Very quiet and a nice area to explore. Rating – 2
SA – Clayton’s Campground
Clayton's Campground - T, S, OR, $. 54 km N of Maree on the Birdsville Track. Clayton's is a beaut spot to stop, loos, showers, hot tub all for $10 a car per night. There are even some instructions on how to fill the hot tub and use it. 53kms north of Maree. Rating - 3
