Chambers Pillar

Friday 20th – Wow in the light of day when we could see where we camped we have an amazing view right from our campsite. Chambers Pillar in one direction and Castle Rock in the other.

The campsite here is well set out with bollards defining the sites. Big sites with space between each site. There is long drop toilets, gas BBQ and fire pits. Cost is $3.30 per person.

Inside the back door of the ute was pretty dusty after the dusty red dirt roads we have been on, so I spend the morning wiping dust of seals on both the ute and the camper. We chatted to our neighbours and went for a quick stroll to the sunrise viewing area of the Pillar.

After lunch we went for a walk around the base of the pillar and climbed the stairs to the platform around the pillar. Amazing sight, amazing colours and blowing a gale up there. There is also a suggested sunset viewing area with seats.

Wildflowers are out everywhere but very much blowing in the strong breeze, which is quite cool.
