Kakadu National Park, Jim Jim Billabong Campground - T, OR, $, B. Large semi grassy area, Fire pits, toilet, bins towards the entry. Popular spot, especially for whiz bang vans, fees apply. Rating – 3

Kakadu National Park, Kambolgie Campground - B, T, $. Bush camping, toilets, bins, fireplaces, lots of trees, well spaced out sites. Cost $5 pp. We opted for this camping area over the more busy Gunlom managed campground @$10 pp. Rating – 2.5

Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve – T, OR, $. Turn off 77 km from Alice Springs. 24 km corrugated dirt road into camping area. One camp spot within view of Rainbow Valley. Sandy Way Rest Area - B, OF, F, M, D, BR. 56 km W of Curtin Springs. 2 areas to camp, pull off close to the road with table & chairs and tank water or over the dune to a large camping area. Rating – 2
NT – Salt Creek Rest Area
Salt Creek Rest Area – OR, F, B, D, BR. 48 km N Lasseter Hwy, on Luritja Road. 2 areas one close to the road, over the sand dune to another. Fairy quiet, good spot for one night stop. Rating – 2.5
NT – Redbank Gorge – Woodland Campground
Redbank Gorge, Woodland Campground – OR, T, $. 24 km NW of Glen Helen. Large sites, bush setting, each with free gas BBQ with 2 hot plates, table and chairs and fire pit. 3 sites are drive through especially for trailer and caravans. Fees apply, self registration. Rating – 3
NT – Neil Hargraves Lookout
Neil Hargraves Lookout – F, OR, B, D. 107 km W of Alice Springs. Several gravelly areas to camp. Camping permitted for 24hrs. Great view, has water, shelter and tables. Rating – 2

Trephina Gorge, Gorge Campground – T, OR, $, DW. 85 km E of Alice Springs, East Macdonnell Ranges. Long drops, drinking water. Very dusty sites, not very big but new campground being put in especially for campers and caravans. Amazing vista from campsite.
