We did some shopping in Goondiwindi, filled up with fuel and bought lunch. There are several really lovely parks in Goondiwindi, we think it’s a really nice town.
After lunch we headed to Thallon a small country town west of Goondiwindi. Not a lot there, pub is supposed to have great meals. There is an area to camp in town, that has showers and toilets and power for $10 a night, payment at the pub, pretty good value. We went for a walk to the painted silos, you can’t get too close to them.
We stayed at Barney’s Beach, only a few kms out of town on the Moonie River. This area seems well used and was a little dry and dusty. There are no facilities here. We camped near the bridge, taking the track to the left. Found a nice spot in amongst the trees.
